The snow is slowly ending across the area, and the roads are starting to improve. The snow showers will end in Springfield, likely around 3-4 pm, and then end in Champaign closer to 6-7 pm tonight. Temperatures are just below freezing, so with the additional snow on the ground, some slick spots are possible tonight, especially with some re-freezing occurring because the overnight low is at 18. Feels like conditions will fall into the low teens and/or single digits.This weekend, temperatures will be warmer than it has been, but still below freezing on Saturday. Partly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 20s. Feels like conditions will stay in the 20s, because the wind will be light. Sunday could have some temperatures in Central Illinois just above freezing. So some melting can occur Sunday, but in the evening and overnight, a chance for light flurries moves in, 20-30%, with little to no accumulation expected at this time. Temperatures are expected to take a nose dive next week, with highs in the teens and low overnight temperatures in the single digits. Any melting from Sunday will refreeze on Monday.
