Multiple weather makers are forecast between now and the weekend. With each passing event, the threat will continue to ramp up. While the weather will continue to be warmer than normal, rain is likely, and thunderstorms may rumble across the Gulf Coast. Look for a shower to appear at about anytime through Thursday with the most likely time for heavy rain being late Wednesday night into Thursday morning. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has Gulf Coast states under a slight risk for severe weather Wednesday and Wednesday night. That’s a 2 on the scale from 1 to 5 with 5 being most severe. The weather cools briefly Thursday night and Friday with a much stronger cold snap forecast early next week.
An early heads up for the weekend suggests severe weather is possible if not likely for parts of the South. During the day Saturday it will be warm, cloudy and breezy. Keep any outdoor plans as the weather will likely be dry during the day Saturday. It’s late Saturday night that a round of thunderstorms will move through. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has outlined an area over the South to be on alert.
Once the weather settles, a cold blast will send the temperatures plummeting. By Monday morning plan to start the day in the 30s.
