“When you start a war you got to know you can win,” Trump said, while also putting blame on former President Joe Biden for the war between Russia and Ukraine.

The comments by the US president come after a major development in the Ukrainian city of Sumy, where Russian missile strikes killed at least 34 people and injured 117 others. Trump told the media persons at the White House that there were “millions of people dead because of three people.”

“Let’s say Putin number one, but let’s say Biden, who had no idea what the hell he was doing, number two, and Zelenskyy,” Trump said on Monday, reported BBC.

As per the estimates, hundreds of thousands people have been killed or injured, and not “millions” as claimed by the US president since Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

While sharpening his attack on Zelenskyy, Trump said that he is always looking to purchase missiles. “You don’t start a war against someone 20 times your size and then hope that people give you some missiles,” Trump said.

Tensions between the US president and the Ukrainian leader have remained high since their heated argument about the Russian war in the White House in February this year.

Earlier, in an interview with CBS News, Zelenskyy had said “Please, before any kind of decisions, any kind of forms of negotiations, come to see people, civilians, warriors, hospitals, churches, children destroyed or dead.”
