Hyatt accelerates global expansion with new luxury and lifestyle hotels in Toronto, Miami, Brussels, and beyond, redefining hospitality experiences worldwide.
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has revealed a record-breaking development pipeline, boasting approximately 138,000 rooms as of the end of 2024. Alongside this growth, the company is implementing a strategic brand realignment aimed at maximizing owner returns and accelerating expansion. By categorizing its portfolio into five distinctive segments—Luxury, Lifestyle, Inclusive, Classics, and Essentials—Hyatt is strengthening its ability to meet the evolving demands of guests, stakeholders, and hospitality partners while optimizing operational efficiency.
Guiding Hyatt’s revamped Lifestyle Group is Amar Lalvani, the former Executive Chairman of Standard International, who has taken on the role of President & Creative Director. Under his leadership, the Lifestyle Portfolio will receive heightened focus on brand positioning and performance, further cementing Hyatt’s dominance in the lifestyle hospitality sector. This initiative follows Hyatt’s acquisition of Standard International’s celebrated brands—The Standard, Bunkhouse Hotels, and the recently introduced The StandardX. The acquisition added 22 existing hotels and over 30 pipeline projects, significantly expanding Hyatt’s presence in this high-growth segment. Over the past year, Hyatt has grown its Lifestyle Portfolio pipeline by nearly 50% while increasing the number of operational properties by over 20%.
Recent high-profile lifestyle openings include:
The StandardX, Melbourne
The Standard, Singapore
Hotel Saint Augustine (Houston), part of Bunkhouse Hotels
The StandardX, Bangkok Phra Arthit
Thompson Palm Springs
Hyatt’s Lifestyle Portfolio is set to grow further with several key projects underway:

Catie Cramer has been appointed as Head of Lifestyle Development – US, leading efforts to expand Hyatt’s Lifestyle Portfolio across the country. Additionally, Tina Necrason has joined Hyatt as Global Head of Branded Residential, where she will oversee the development and execution of Hyatt’s branded residential strategy across all brands.
